Membership: We are currently soliciting payment for 2013 membership dues. So far we have had 21/85 or 25% of our members renew. We ask that you renew as soon as possible – ASAP in medical talk. Department sets various percentage renewal guidelines and these are always nice to meet. Additionally, early renewals are eligible for the drawing for a free membership for 2013. The deadline for this drawing is our next meeting, September 18. Paying your membership early also gets it out of the way so you don’t have to worry about coming up with the money around Christmas time when your money is flowing out of your pockets about as fast as the water is currently flowing out of the lake!!
Finances: Gene Hill gave a financial report. S.A.L. finances remain in good shape. American Legion Golf Tournament: Bob Nellis made a motion that we donate $300 to the upcoming American Legion Golf Tournament. Motion carried. The tournament will be held on October 6 at the Truth or Consequences Municipal Golf Course. The format will be a scramble consisting of four person teams. Teams will receive 20% of total handicap and will be divided into two flights based on total handicap. For this you get to play golf with some great people, receive a polo shirt with the Legion Tournament emblem, a meal and even a free raffle ticket for some of the wonderful prizes that will be available. All of this can be had for a measly, paltry, giveaway price of $60.00 per person. It should be the most fun you can have with your clothes on…the fun is guaranteed… we can only hope that you’ll keep your clothes on!!! We are asking that you pay your entry fee at the golf course to make keeping track easier. If this is a problem hunt down Linda Amdal who is the chief cook, bottle washer and ramrod for the event. For more information please see the flyers at the post.
