The Sons of the American Legion held its monthly meeting Aug 24. In attendance were Deone Harty, Donnie Polstin, Gene Hill, Tillman Smith, Bob Nellis and Bill Nenno.     Membership   As with all of the American Legion families membership is our current big push. Our total membership for 2013 was 85 members. Currently, 15 members have paid their 2014 dues. For those who pay before September your name will be entered into an early bird drawing. If your name is drawn your membership will be free, just one more reason to pay your 2014 membership ASAP.  Elephant Days Celebration :The S.A.L will be joining with the rest of the American Legion Familys in celebrating Elephant Days by putting a float in the parade. When I say float I actually mean golf cart! We put decorated golf carts in the Ralph Edward Day Parade and they seemed to be well received and so we will be doing the same for the Elephant Days celebration.

He submitted that the agency is also probing a land deal in Chennai involving Tatas and the DMK party and the progress on investigation into it has been mentioned in the instruction manual. robertrobb.com levitra price in india Returning Soldier Eric Luna on Wednesday the Post hosted a reception to welcome Erica Luna back from deployment. Commander Roy Lucero presented him with a paid first year membership to the American Legion. The S.A.L was proud to also present  paid  first year memberships to both of his sons.  Moose Golf Tournament :  The S.A.L received a letter from the Loyal Order of Moose soliciting support for the Governor’s Cup Charity Golf Tournament. We voted to become a hole sponsor for $100 donation. We are happy to support our local Moose organization and to help be a part of all of the good work they do for the local community.   American Legion Family 2nd Annual Golf Tournament:  The S.A.L is proud to also support our own 2nd Annual American Legion Family Golf Tournament coming up on September 21. In addition to pledging our help putting on this event, we voted to give a $100 hole sponsorship. We had great fun at last year’s tournament. In what is shaping up to be an annual grudge match the gauntlet has now been dropped. Last year the team of Craig Pierson, Mary Ann Weaver, Joel & Julie Crespy won 2nd flight. The team of the Gene Hill, Tillman Smith, Bill & Linda Nenno came in 2nd. This year both teams are still intact and will once again be competing. It is only the results that will be different!!!    Next Meeting :Our next meeting will be held Tuesday Sept 16 at 6:30 PM at the Post. The S.A.L. meetings are always held on the third Tuesday of the month and all are invited to attend.
As always, remember that organizations are not really organizations, they are just people. Help out when you can and when you see them, thank those that do help out and let’s all work together for the common good.

The Sons of the American Legion held its normal meeting July 16. In attendance were Deone Harty, Donnie Polstin, Gene Hill, Tillman Smith and Bill Nenno

Membership:       As with all of the American Legion families membership is our current big push. Our total membership for 2013 was 85 members. Currently, 9 members have paid their 2014 dues.  For those who pay before September your name will be entered into an early bird drawing.  If your name is drawn your membership will be free.   Just one more reason to pay your 2014 membership  ASAP.

Benefit Dinner:  I was out of town, but from what I understand the benefit dinner for Wyatt Slanina was a great success.  Donnie and Deone served almost 60 meals.  Approximately $450 was raised and they presented the family a check on July 25th. Thanks again to Donnie and Deone. Your dinners are greatly appreciated.

Legion Family Golf Tournament :  Speaking of golf , or in this case writing about it, mark your calendar for the upcoming Legion Family Golf Tournament September 21.  Last year’s tournament was great fun. $60 per player gets you 1 round of golf with cart, a shirt, a brisket lunch and a raffle ticket.  What a bargain and it is for a good cause!!
