Newsletter – July 2023

Sons of the American Legion Commander – Doug Carey
The SAL held their monthly meeting Tue June 20 at 6:30 at Post 44. We voted to donate $1,000 to the Post to assist with the purchase of a new stove and $200 to Friends of Elephant Butte Lake State Park for the July 1 fireworks show. Membership is going well. Following discussion, we changed the time of our monthly meeting from 6:30 to 5:30 going forward.

August 26 is the date for the Post 44 Annual Golf Tournament and the SAL will be doing the dinner so we are looking for volunteers to serve or help in the kitchen. SAL has also sponsored a hole.

The next SAL meeting will be Tue July 18 at 5:30 at the Post. Please notice the new starting time. Plan on being at the meeting and become an active member.

As always, remember that organizations are not really organizations, they are just people. Help out when you can and when you see them, thank those who do help out and let’s all work together for the common good.

Thanks for supporting our Post, our Community and most of all – the Veteran.
