The SAL was active in the placing of the flags on the veterans grave sites at the old and new cemeteries on May 24. We participated in the Memorial Day services at the New and Old cemeteries, the Wall and Ralph Edwards Park for the floating of the reefs.

The SAL will be an active participant in Elephant Butte Flag day.

Elephant Butte Days

The SAL voted to obtain a booth at the event this year for the purpose of selling Bar-B-Que sandwiches and Hamburgers and Hot dogs. This will have to be a Family event to have enough personnel to run the booth. I think two or three people for three hours at a time would be enough. The SAL thinks this would be an excellent way to help the Legion in raising funds. This booth could also be used as an     opportunity to bring in new members. If we can’t get the proper help, we will donate the booth fund to Elephant Days.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be held Tuesday June 17, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Post. The S.A.L. meetings are always held on the third Tuesday of the month and all are invited to attend.

As always, remember that organizations are not really organizations, they are just people. Help out when you can and when you see them, thank those that do help out and let’s all work together for the common good.

Thanks for supporting our Post, our Community and most of all —the Veteran
