image005On the 16th, 9 Riders, along with three guests rode to Hatch to have lunch at Spark’s. The group was blessed with beautiful weather for the trip there. Apparently a whole lot of people had the same idea and lunch destination.
When we arrived the parking lot next door was almost completely full of bikes and groups of motorcycles kept coming and going the entire time we were there. The food was very good, the music was very loud and generally it was a good time.
The group returned on the Old Road and the wind was very strong for the first few miles headed north. But then it calmed and conditions were ideal.

On Friday the 21st, Riders from Chapter 5 performed Escort Duty at the funeral of a local area veteran of the Vietnam War. Services for Mr. Robert “Shorty” D. Chapter 5 escorted the procession from the church to the Garfield Cemetery where Mr. Valdez cremains were inurned with military honor provided by New Mexico National Guard and a detachment of The Marine Corps League.
