Rider Activities 2012
August Ride:The scheduled ride coincided with the State Picnic as well as a memorial event being held in Winston for one of our fallen warriors.
The weather was great and the road to Winston provides a very entertaining ride.
Approximately 16 riders on 11 bikes from 5 different chapters made the ride. The riders were greeted by the parents and siblings of the soldier and many of the local ranchers and families that had gathered to have a “ranch style” rodeo. The bad news was we were too early to sample any of the food being prepared for a “Dutch Oven” cook-off later in the day.
The good news was the fish fry at the picnic was terrific.
The NM American Legion Riders will take gift cards, phone cards and comfort items donated throughout the year to Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio Texas in September 2012. Part of the monies raised by the American Legion Riders
