Rider Activities April, 2013

Scheduled Ride:  There was no scheduled ride again this month.  However, after breakfast at the Post, Jim, Jerry and Craig did take a short “public relations” ride to show the colors around the area.  They visited with the owners of My Motorcycle shop on third street, the Socorro Leather shop in Williamsburg and Miller Guns and Ammo in Caballo.

Activities and Events: The Riders hosted a table for the third week of the “Cosmic Talent World Expo of T or C”.  This event which is scheduled to last two more months is being held at the LeeBelleJohnsonSeniorCenter in the early evening of the second Saturday of the month in conjunction with the regular Art Hop in downtown T or C.

On the sad side, the Never Forgotten traveling trophy has taken flight and, inexplicably, come to roost in Carlsbad.  On March 28th Chapter 5 hosted Riders from Chapter 3 out of Carlsbad and relinquished the trophy for the time being.

Up-coming Events: As part of the T or C Fiesta events the Riders President Jim “Snoopy” Coslin will ride in the parade with other representatives from the Legion family at Post 44. As part of our ongoing public relations effort, the Riders will also host a table in Ralph Edwards Park all day Saturday and Sunday morning alongside the Auxiliary and SCCA.  There will be a number of activities there at the park including live music.

Also, don’t forget the bike show in the parking lot of BBQ On Broadway and the motorcycle run to local stops around T or C held after the parade beginning at 11:30.

Finally, John “Husker” Bush, one of Chapter 5’s members, has been on an extended visit to Australia and has been kind enough to share some photos.  Guess he’s having a rough time.
