Scheduled Ride: The ride scheduled for the 10^th of May was canceled due to inclement weather.

Chapter 5 has been designated to hold the NMALR State Picnic the second weekend in August

Other Activities

On May 15 Chapter 5 sent four Riders accompanied by four guests south to welcome the annual “Run For The Wall” riders as they entered Las Cruces. May 24^th saw Chapter 5 . busy with Memorial Day weekend activities. Several members participated with others from Post 44 to place flags on the resting places of veterans throughout the city; New Cemetery, Old Cemetery and the Column resting place at the Veterans Memorial Park. Others went to Dam Site to set up a POW/MIA table and perform the ceremony for the assembled crowd.

Finally, on Monday, May 26^th nine Chapter 5 members took part in the Memorial Day proceedings as Post 44 hosted the ceremony at the New Cemetery and participated in the parade from one location to the next. Unit 44 Auxiliary hosted the ceremony at Ralph Edwards Park and placed the wreaths in the river.

Our monthly meetings are held at Post 44 on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. – Feel free to drop in, guests are always welcome.

Charles and Carolyn Druce resigned from Post 44 earlier this month. No specific reason was given.

A special meeting of the Chapter 5 e-board was convened on April 6^th to fill officer positions left vacant. Jerry Garlow was confirmed as Chapter 5 President. Jim Coslin gracefully agreed to take up the reins again as Vice President. All other officer positions remain the same.

Other Activities

An extra State NMALR meeting was held on April 26^th to take care of left-over business from Mid-winter Conference. The single item most affecting Chapter 5 is that it was agreed that the State Picnic would be held at Elephant Butte Lake State Park on the second weekend of August. The Dirt Damn – Rally Site has been secured for that event. More news to follow.
