Notes from the Office
A volunteer is needed to take charge of posting events on our outdoor letterboard a couple times each week. See Mitzi if interested.

Serving hours for the Friday Grill have expanded! Now opening at 4:00.

Be sure to get in on the raffle to win the hand-painted skull created and donated by Linde Polstin. It’s on display in the Post. Bartenders are selling tickets for $1/ea or 6/$5. Drawing will be held at the Christmas Party Dec 17th.

It’s time to renew your membership dues for 2023. A current membership card is required to access the Gaming Room – receipts are not acceptable – so please plan ahead as our Membership Chairpersons are volunteers and need a few days to process your card. New door cards for the outside entrances will be issued January 1.

Newsletter – November 2022

Post Commander – Tom Cleveland
Greetings to all! November has arrived, fall is in full beauty and Day Light Savings Time will end on Saturday the 6th. October was a busy month at the Post. We had many special activities such as Pool, Game Day, Bunco, Soup Sunday, and our annual Halloween Party. All events were well attended. These types of activities help draw people into the Post.

As was reported in the October Newsletter, the ice maker finally died and a new one was ordered. It arrived and was installed and is operational. Thanks go to First Vice Mike Behnen, Sergeant At Arms David Duran and Wisconsin Bob for the installation.

I want to acknowledge a special thank you to the Post 44 Auxiliary for their most generous donation of $2,300 to the Post to help defray the cost of the major expenses we just experienced. Your support is greatly appreciated!!

Drawing for Legion Early Bird membership dues was held at the October 15th General Meeting and the winner was Russ Trager. Congratulations Russ!! When I presented him with the check for $40, he promptly donated the money back to the Post. Thanks Russ!

After a long search, we have hired a cook to man the kitchen for Friday Night Grill. His name is David Conley. He will on occasion provide a Wednesday dinner, as well. If you are in the area on a Friday, stop in and tell David hello and enjoy a good burger! We have also hired Shelly Crocker as a part-time Office Assistant to support Mitzi with office duties.

The November 19th General Meeting will be the last meeting of the year so if you have any business to bring to the attention of the Post, please bring it forward.

Remember to stay focused on our mission—serving veterans, their families and our community.
