Newsletter – August 2021

Commander – David Thibeau

In July, Post 44 hosted the memorials and bid farewell to 53 year member Bill Propst and to Post 44 Past Commander Lee Spieker. Our deepest sympathies go out to both of these Legionnaire families.

I want to thank all those volunteers who helped and participated in our July activities.
The pizza party was a great success and lots of fun. Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed the delicious creations. Special thanks to Nancy Trueblood for organizing the party and the chefs for donatingthe ingredients to create their masterpieces.

Our Wednesday night dinner numbers are improving, as well as those for the monthly all-you-can-eat breakfast. The flea market breakfast burritos usually sell out fast. Fun pool nights are being well attended.

Post 44 still needs a 2nd Vice Commander. Legionnaires – if you are interested, please sign up on the bulletin board at the Post. We also still need volunteers to help with facilities maintenance and upkeep.

That sign-up sheet is also on the bulletin board at the Post. Please step up to help in any way you can.

Monetary donations are still needed to build the Post Operating Fund back up to pre-Covid levels. Your generous support is always appreciated. Thank you for helping Post 44 continue its mission of servingveterans, their families, and our community.
