Newsletter – June 2023

Auxiliary President – Ginny Lucero (ph: 505-453-7401)
This month we donated $100 to United Military Women of the SW for boxing, $25 to Maurene Justice for rental of alien for Fiesta Parade, and $500 to Veterans Hospital for pillows.

Our monthly bake sale and flea market will be Sat June 3 from 8-noon. Setup begins at 7am. Our Veterans from the NMVH will be joining us for dinner on Wed June 7. Sue Barr will be providing the music and entertainment.

Bunco will be on Thu June 8 & 22 at 1:30 and Cards/Games will be on Mon June 12 & 26 at 1pm. Everyone is welcome to join us for a good time at the Post. If you have a special game, bring it along and teach us how to play. Thanks to all of you for enjoying an afternoon of fun.

The Auxiliary will be preparing and serving a brisket dinner for Father’s Day from 5-6pm on Sun June 18. The dinner is free of charge to all Post 44 dads. Others in attendance may obtain a dinner for an $8 donation. Ask your bartender for the signup sheet. The last day to sign up is June 11.

The American Legion Auxiliary 103rd Annual Convention is scheduled for June 22-25 in Las Cruces at the Hilton Garden Inn, hosted by Unit 10. Fee to attend is $15. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other units, gain lots of great information, and loads of fun. I have applications and information on staying at the hotel but act quickly, as the deadline to reserve a room is June 1. There is an awards lunch on Fri June 23 at the hotel at a cost of $30. Please see any officer for information.

Our General membership meeting is on June 17 at 10:30am at the American Legion Post 44. All members are invited and encouraged to attend.
