FLAG DAY PRAYER
O God, we thank Thee for the Flag of our Country and for all that our Flag represents. We thank Thee for giving the victory to brave and valiant men who have given their last measure of strength in order that it might wave over the land of the free and home of the brave. Grant that this Union of Sovereign States may remain forever an indissoluble Union flying the same Flag. In Jesus name we Pray, Amen.

Care packages—Marty Novak
In May we sent 20 Care Packages. We had 1 of our guys come home this month and 8 others took his place. They will be there until November. So in June we will be sending a few more. Thanks to our American Legion Family for the help and support they give us, to the members, non-members, groups, organizations, and business of our community for their monetary donations, memorials and donations of supplies and to all those who come to pack the boxes. It takes us all to keep this project going.

I know that the postage has gone up and Charity money is tight and donations are down so we are trying to keep the number of packages down, but we can’t forget these brave men and women who are deployed and protecting us and our freedom.

We always do Care Packages on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Our next packing day is June 8. Some of us arrive at 10 to start setting things up and making boxes. We start filling the boxes about 10:30 and we are usually finished by 11. Anyone is welcome.

Cell Phones for Soldiers
We are still collecting used cell phones. These phones are sent for recycling and provide calling cards for our Troops. There is a collection container in the entry way of the Post.
