Special thanks to Nancy Trueblood for submitting the article featuring our Care Package Program that was printed in the November Auxiliary National Magazine.

We have lots of opportunities to bake in December: Cookie trays to the businesses in town that support us – assemble and deliver on Thursday, Dec 8 at 10am; pecan pie muffins for the Luminaria Beach Walk on Saturday, Dec 10; cookies to our troops to be packed and mailed on Wednesday, Dec 14 at 10am – package everything in snack-size bags.

Pecan Pie Muffins

1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
2/3 c melted butter (not margarine)
½ c flour
1 c small pecan pieces

Mix all ingredients together. Spray non-stick mini muffin pan. Fill 2/3 full. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes (mine cook in 12 min) or until brown around the edges. Remove from pan while still warm.

Our Legion Family Christmas Party will be Saturday, Dec 17 starting at 5:00. It’s a potluck and white elephant gift exchange. If you choose to participate in the exchange, please bring a gift for either a male or female and try to keep the amount around $20.

Our Veterans from the NMVH will be joining us for dinner on Wednesday, Dec 7. Tim Thompson will be providing the music and entertainment.

Bunco is being held on Thursday, Dec 8 and 29 at 1:30 at the Post. Cards/games will be held at the Post on Monday, Dec 12 and 26 at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us. If you have a special game, bring it along and teach us how to play. There is no monthly meeting in December.
