At our joint meeting, we passed the hat to collect $199.00 for water, Gatorade & granola bars for our first responders. We collected another $136.00 for an ALA member who has passed away and whose family needs help with funeral expenses.

Our 2022 membership cards have arrived; please see Linda Nenno or Ginny Lucero to renew your membership.

Our next bake sale will on September 4th during the monthly flea market at Post 44 from 8:00-12:00 pm. If you are interested in baking or helping out, please contact me.

Our monthly meeting will be Saturday, September 18th at 10:30 a.m. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

We will be delivering water, Gatorade & granola bars to the Truth or Consequences Fire Department on Wednesday, September 8th at 7:00 p.m. and at the Elephant Butte Fire Department on Tuesday, September 14th at 6:00 p.m. Please join us to thank our volunteer fire department. We are still in need of dollar donations, please see any Auxiliary officer if you would like to donate for this great cause.

There will be a celebration of life ceremony for our dear friend, Sherry Harty on Friday, September 10th at 1:00 p.m. Her sons, Tom & Ed Harty and some of Sherry’s family will be in town for this ceremony and they plan on participating in our annual golf tournament. Cookies and brownies will be served after the ceremony.

There will be a coat drive for all ages, new or used, men, women and/or children. Start saving your old coats and stay tuned for more information in the next month or so.

The aluminum can recycle trailer has been relocated to the front of the American Legion Post 44. Please continue to donate your cans at our new location.

We collect box tops (please make sure they haven’t expired) & Campbell soup labels for Education, as well as Bullock’s receipts.

The Auxiliary donated $200.00 to the Hot Springs Cemetery Association at our July meeting.

Thank you all for your continued support and commitment to Post 44 and the Auxiliary Unit 44 this past year.

Thanks to Nancy Trueblood for initiating the first pizza party fundraiser. We hope to have more of these in the coming months.
