February 2010At the February 20th meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 44 in Elephant Butte, we honored a new member. Warren Roberts is always there when the Auxiliary needs help. He cashiers with the Auxiliary members who help serve dinner on Wednesday nights….he is there to decorate the Post with the members….anytime we need help, we know we can always count on Warren to be there. In the photo, President Liz Foster is presenting Warren with a “chipping in” certificate which makes him an honorary Auxiliary member. He was also presented with a Legion shirt. On a lighter note, member Linda Nenno warned Warren that the “skirt comes next month”. Warren, we adore you and thank you!!

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 44 had their monthly meeting Saturday, January 16th. Guest speaker was Sarah Stagner. Sarah, a young professional in our community and an Auxiliary member told the Unit what the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary means to her and her family. Many generations in her family are veterans and she explained how she was raised to always provide service to your community.
