Auxiliary President – Ginny Lucero (ph: 505-453-7401)
In August the Auxiliary donated to the Sierra County Schools for clothing, etc., Sierra County Cancer Association, Hot Springs Cemetery Association, and American Legion Post 44 as a golf sponsor.

We have reached a milestone in mailing 10,000 care packages to our deployed troops. The American Legion Auxiliary Magazine will be mentioning Unit 44 in their next publication for our efforts.

Our next bake sale is Saturday, September 3; set up is at 7:00 a.m., sale is from 8-12:00 p.m. We always need baked items so if you wish to bake or help out, please call me.

The Auxiliary will be providing Wednesday dinners on September 7, 14, and 28. Pick up the Post calendar to find out what’s cooking. Sue Kutz will be making lasagna on the 7th and Brenda McWhorter will be providing the music. We will be welcoming our Veterans back on Wednesday, September 21st for the SALs chicken fried steak dinner and Sue Barr will be joining us with her music and entertainment.

The Post golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, September 17 at Sierra del Rio. We are in need of volunteers in the kitchen, making side dishes, at the golf course, and other ways. Contact me at the above number so we can sign you up to help out.

Bunco is being held Thursday, September 8 & 22 at 1:30 at the Post, as well as cards/games on Monday, September 12 & 26 at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us. If you have a special game, bring it along and teach us how to play.

We are collecting monetary donations for supplies to our local fire departments. There are donation containers at the Post. Please help us thank our first responders. We are also collecting school supplies for our schools. There is a box at the Post for your donation.
