GFWC/Hot Springs Woman’s Club Donates to Care Packages for Troops

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 44 of Elephant Butte is very proud of the Unit’s Care Package Program which has delivered well over 6,000 packages to our troops overseas. This is a costly program but thanks to the generous citizens of Sierra County, the program is successful.

Kim Weiss, President of GFWC/HSWC, stopped by this month on “Care Package Day” and presented a check of $400 to the Unit. The Woman’s Club has donated to this project in the past and as Kim said “they wished to express their continued support of this wonderful program”. The Unit is extremely thankful for this assistance; each care package costs between $25 – $30 so this gift will assure that another 15 care packages are sent to our soldiers.
